Memphis Police Department CIT

NAMI Memphis was instrumental in the creation of the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) with the Memphis Police Department and continues with the development of this important program.

Board Representation

NAMI Memphis members sit on various boards in the Mid-South area, advocating for families and mental health care consumers, and ensuring best practices in treatment are used.

NAMI Memphis Meetings (Support Groups)

The core of NAMI Memphis is its support group meetings for consumers and their loved ones. These are held throughout Memphis and the surrounding area. All meetings are free, confidential, and open to the public.

NAMI Memphis offers classes for families and friends of those living with mental illness. THese classes help participants understand mental illness symptoms, treatments, and medications, as well as teach coping skills to benefit themselves and their mentally ill loved one.

Our monthly newsletter features up-to-date legal, medical, and research news, along with NAMI Memphis events and relevant information for both consumers and families.

NAMI Memphis also offers speakers for groups, as well as information and referral on request.
